Break-and-Enter at Remote Yukon Cabin
Big news - we got back from spike camp yesterday to find that we had a break-in at our main cabin. Not a typical break-in, but an intruder none the less. There's a family of gophers that live under the front steps and somehow one of them made his way inside. I had a couple of foamies on my bed which the intruder ripped into about a million half-inch chunks of foam and left them all over the cabin. He pooped and peed everywhere and ran across the top of our table, ate all of our fresh vegetables and licked the ranch dip right out of the bowl. I was not impressed. Ranch dip is my favorite. After I saw that my foamies were ruined, I swapped beds with Todd, so all night he had to sleep on the pee-foamies that were probably full of fleas. He's been walking around itching all day. You snooze you lose Todd.
Other than the cabin intruder, things around here are good. Lots of animals, nice weather again and no snow so far. Looking forward to hunting again tomorrow. Hopefully Todd's fleas will have subsided by then too.
