Longest Shot of my Life!
We weren't having any luck with the Roebuck, but on the last evening we were waiting up on a mountaintop glassing and three wolves showed up all of a sudden. We saw a lot more wolves on this hunt than we did Roebuck actually. The guides got all excited when they saw the wolves and wanted me to take a shot, so at 545 yards I shot a wolf with my .300 Win. Mag. T/C Encore Pro-Hunter single shot. I held about four feet over it and gave two feet for wind, so it was the longest shot I've ever made in my life - really cool!
That was it for this hunt. We packed up camp the day before yesterday and came to Ulaanbaatar. We went out to film a shaman, but it was too rainy so we cancelled that, so we've just been hanging out getting ready to leave. We leave tomorrow to head back to North America, so it was a great hunt and great organization. Corey Knowlton set it up with Bob Kern from the Hunting Consortium and Kathi Klimes with Wild Travel was excellent and got us over there. We didn't lose any luggage and didn't lose my firearms, so all in all, to this point it was a great hunt and we just need to get home safe and sound now.
