Meet Rez, the Rescue Dog!!
For the first time in years, I've taken an entire month away from hunting to take care of some business back home. At first Louise was all for the idea of having me around, but after a month of in-your-face husband time, I'm starting to think she's changed her mind! She calls me "Hurricane Jim" and increased her yoga regimen the day I got home.. I'm trying my best not to read too far into that...
In truth though, we've had a great time together for the past few weeks. We drove out to our ranch in Saskatchewan, stopping along the way to visit every Shockey family member we could think of, starting in Vancouver with our two wonderful children, Bran and Eva. It happened to be father's day and I felt like the most loved Daddy in the whole wide world when I showed up at Eva's place and there was giant "Happy Dad's Day" signs hanging everywhere. If I had any idea that Father's Day warrants this much attention, I would have tried to make it home for at least one of the past 25 Father's Days... Maybe even two.

Two long days of driving later and multiple visits to Shockey farms in the Praries, Louise and I finally arrived at our ranch looking as scruffy as can be. We brought with us our two dogs, Rez and Marco. Did I mention I got my very own brand-spanking-new rescue dog!? His name is "Rez, the Rescue Dog" (see above photo). Louise has been head-over-heels with her little 4lb fuzzy wuzzy Pomeranian so I convinced her that we need another protector for the house. Enter Rez. He's part Rottweiler, part German Shepherd and 100% mutt. He's my new buddy and we've been having some serious talks about not jumping on top of Louise's fuzzy wuzzy furball... He's still in training.
Then, after a week at our ranch we took a short trip out to Baltimore for some meetings at the Under Armour headquarters. We had a great time with all the good, good people at UA as well as some of our industry's finest outdoors men and women. Once again, I'm proud to be a part of the Under Armour team as well as a part of the hunting industry! Nothing gets better than this!

That's it for now... Heading to Montana in a few days to film some segments for Nosler, then off to Mongolia with cameraman, Matt Gibson, next week to hunt High Altay, Hangay and Siberian Roebuck - should be another great adventure!!!! Don't forget to tune into Season 2 of The Professionals!! Check-out our Professionals facebook page for airtimes.. Bran has been working really hard this year to produce even better footage than our last season, so trust me, this stuff is unreal.
See you on the mountain,
