Inspired by Under Armour

Posted by: jsadmin

Louise and I just returned from an amazing trip to Baltimore to meet with the great people at Under Armour (UA). I have to say it was one of the most inspirational meetings I've ever been a part of. Everything was perfectly planned and executed; the people at UA were professional and definitely focused on the ball. They have grown from a virtual unknown entity only 14 years ago, to a business that is not only hugely respected in the world of sports-adventure clothing, but also they've grown into a business doing more than $1 billion in annual sales!!

No matter where you look these days, the UA brand is everywhere, and so it should be, they make great apparel. I've been wearing UA for years now and love it. Finally it happened and we teamed up with UA this last year when they became sponsors of both of our television shows, “Hunting Adventures” and “The Professionals.”

Personally I think it is a wonderful partnership. UA is serious about providing gear for hunters and outdoors people, and we as hunters need to support them. The fact of the matter is, UA is a mainstream manufacturer that has entered our industry, and we as hunters absolutely need to show them that we appreciate their efforts to help us both figuratively (with support in the non-hunting world that they reach) and literally (with top of the line quality clothing and footwear for the outdoors.)

During our meeting with UA, which was also attended by Lee and Tiffany, Gregg Ritz, Cameron Hanes, Garth and Jason Carter, Willie from the “Duck Commanders,” Spook Spann and several other well-known industry celebs, we learned about the products and also about their new line of footwear. Now I've used the UA gear for years, but wasn't aware of just how in depth they've gone with their new products. I can't wait to give them all a try this fall, including their new base layers. I'm also going to test their scent-free products. The science was startlingly complicated, but basically it meant that deer won't be able to smell me if the wind is right at my back! I'm in.

We also managed to catch a baseball game and were lucky enough to be there when Baltimore won in extra innings with a home run! It was my first live baseball game since I watched the Montreal Expos over 30 years ago!

Anyway, watch for the new UA products and make sure you really take a close look at their new lines of footwear. They are the best I've seen, ever!!

Catch you on the mountain!
