Oryx Success in New Mexico
After only seeing one oryx all day yesterday, it was bitter, bitter cold here this morning. We went out spotted one oryx right off the bat, an ancient, ancient old bull. We had to wait for three hours for him to get into a position and finally he did and I got two shots off at him. One at 389 and one at 450. Perfect shots with the Thompson/Center centerfire rifle. Now I have to fly to Denver to meet with all of the Cabela's people for their big 50th anniversary get-together and then I fly back to Texas to do a hunt for auodad with my buddy Mike Powell of Primos.
