Len Leaves Hospital, Jim Leaves for Peru

Posted by: Jim Shockey

Len was released from the hospital yesterday. He was going crazy there. He had his own private room, but they moved him into a hallway because two sick people in the next room were fighting, so they separated them and basically kicked Len out into the hallway. No TV, no nothing. Welcome to our medical system ... So we took him home and hired a private nurse to live in his house with him 24 hours a day. He lost 41 pounds in two weeks, but is smiling and really happy to be home in his favorite chair, listening to the birds and watching his garden grow.

I've been in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, gave the toast to the groom at Fred Lackie's wedding to Paulette. All the guys were there, big meetings about the seasons coming up and tons of fun. More rain than I've ever seen in Saskatchewan and the bucks are loving it! The antlers are growing huge here this year. It's about time Mother Nature did us a favor instead of dry springs, warm falls and horribly bad winters. Saskatchewan is coming back (I hope!) to its former glory days!

Off to Peru now. Have to try a third time for that Andean whitetail deer, the toughest to hunt and highest living of all the whitetail deer in the world!

One last thing, who all saw our new show "The Professionals?" We saw it here on the WILD network in Canada, but it aired on Outdoor Channel as well. Let me know what you thought!

Gotta go catch an airplane.
