Eva and Brackett Tag Big BC Bears
Excellent day yesterday. Weather was absolutely horrible, though, windy, rainy, yucky everybody saw a few bears, but we got lucky. Eva got a beautiful big bear, 18 and 11 (sixteenths) in the skull, 60-yard wide open and perfect shot with T/C muzzleloader. So I was the proudest daddy in the whole wide world.
We had another huge one as well right up close breaking trees and whatnot, but Eva and I decided that she shouldn't take the shot. It was straight-on, and that's a tough, tough angle to get these bears, and it just wasn't good enough for Eva's first bear.
Chris Brackett and those guys saw about seven or eight bears including one real big one; they just couldn't get close to them, but they found some good areas. Weather was just tough on everybody yesterday, we just got lucky. Weather today is the same as yesterday. Horrible ugly, rainy, windy, not real nice. But should change. The good news is bad weather can only change one direction.
The guys are seeing cougars too. Brian Wojo had one that just stood there 10 yards away from him, great big huge male. They also saw the day before a young one, and then Freddy also saw a cougar the day before that ... all different areas.
ALSO, the same day that I had my little bump, head-on with another pickup truck of loggers, Todd and Chris Brackett crashed their truck head-on, but everybody is fine.
The Next Day ...
Fantastic day, Brian guided his guy to a real nice boar, perfect shot. And Mike, one of our guides, got his guy a bear at 50 yards. And Freddy got his guy a monster bear with his archery guy at 15 yards, second bear for his bowhunter. And Chris Brackett shot his at 41 yards on camera. So Todd Bissenden is officially a guide. Great day all the way around even though it was blowing ugly raining.
We shot a Yeti Cooler commercial yesterday with the Yeti Cooler falling off my truck. We tossed it out about 10 times driving down a mountain road downhill rolling tumbling on rocks and the cooler was perfect every single time. They're pretty cool, these coolers, pardon the pun ...
