Buffalo Hunting and Jaguar Tracking in Paraguay
Today was a great day for the hunting. Chance Cornett from Texas, I hunted with him in Pakistan, he's here. He shot a river buffalo from Asia. They're Asian water buffalo, but they're Asian river buffalo, way bigger than any buffalo I've ever seen. Huge big horns, they're at least as big as the Australian water buffalo and just monstrous animals with huge heads. Anyway we got great footage, like nine out of 10 footage of him getting a buffalo, and tough, tough, tough, .300 Win. Mag is not enough gun. Anyway we did get it.
Also, I saw ... there's a type of a peccary, there are only three types of peccary in the world, the collared, the white-lipped and this is the Chocoen peccary. Anyway, it was only discovered in 1975, and I saw about five or six of them today, we got them on camera, great footage of them, one of them came running right at us, a big male all puffed up and aggressive, really unusual to see an animal like that. I was excited about that. Saw lots of camen and we hunted for jaguar. We saw no fresh tracks, we saw fresh puma tracks, and other fresh cat tracks, but no fresh jaguar tracks, all old ones.
Cool place, really interesting, having a great time. Everyone is excellent.
As far as Len goes, a little bit of good news, he's stabilized and but he's kind of up and down ... Everyone's saying prayers and we have our fingers crossed. We are hoping for him. We'll try for the jaguars again tomorrow.
