Cannon Safe and Horton Crossbow Sponsors Score!

Fantastic day today! Went out with Mike Baker of Cannon Safe; the temperature finally got over 50 F. Suddenly we started seeing bears everywhere. Lots of bears. We had one this morning that we walked in on.
Yesterday we tried to walk and never saw anything. Today we walked in; there he was 60 yards. The wind shifted, and he started running. Gave Mike a shot crossing at about 125 yards and right then he stepped into a little hole, and Mike shot just over his shoulders, so we didn't get him.
Then we went on to a different area and found a boar and a sow. Huge, monster bear, as big as I've guided to in the last five years. Had him at 150 yards, but we didn't want to shoot. Waited, waited, waited then he followed the sow right to about 90 yards, and we made a perfect shot all on camera. Fantastic footage monster, monster bear, perfect hide, it was absolutely a great trophy, world-class bear. Got all of our pictures.
Went hunting again by 6 p.m., bumped into another boar and a sow couldn't get a shot. Turned around, thought they might come out later, so we went back to the back end and bumped into another boar and a sow, another monster bear. Made a stalk 60 yards. Got them standing on their hind legs ... kind of wrestling ... well, trying to "court" the female. And, anyway, 60 yards we got our second bear of the day. Both I'd say will square near 7 1/2 feet, honest squaring. Huge!
Hal and Len are coming tomorrow and Eva. Should be interesting!
The Day Before ...
Really slow day today for Mike Baker and I ... cold , cold , cold. Temperature never rose above 46 and windy and drizzly.
But Gregg Ritz did get a great bear ... skull green scores 19 and 13/16 inches! He shot the bear at 32 yards with his Horton Crossbow so that went really well. The Horton Crossbow, like I've said earlier since I've had the chance to hunt with it, is amazing! Gregg has his shooting 1-inch groups, no guff, at 60 yards. At 40 yards he cuts his fletches off his bolts whenever he wants to. Incredible!
