Eva Scores on Second Anticosti Buck
Left camp this morning, didn't go very far. First thing this morning right off the bat we found a buck, a spiker, and then a 4x4 with a doe, so we sneaked in on it, Eva made a perfect shot, really good shot, difficult shot, too, and drilled it. Nice heavy 4x4 for these Anticosti deer, this is far more typical of the size here on Anticosti, so we got our pictures and then we hunted the entire rest of the day and saw one more 3x3 and that was it. We saw maybe four does and absolutely froze today, miserable, miserable wind, but it cleared off and wasn't raining thank goodness. We are hoping that tomorrow we have a decent day for weather. Other guys in camp, three got killed today by the guys in camp, about like Eva's 4x4 buck, nothing real big. They're getting deer, but it's tough, everybody's working hard to get their deer.

Eva's first Anticosti buck, a wide 5x5 ... soaking wet from the constant rain the team has been enduring. Eva filled her second tag with a nice 4x4.
The Day Before ...
Tough day today, foggy this morning, we went out hunting, but at least it wasn't raining. We started walking first light, walk, walk, walk, started raining about noon, and just constant soaking rain, the wind picked up and we got back in and took pictures of Eva's buck, and that was it. We walked forever, we saw I think three bucks today, one spike and the other two we only saw glimpses, and maybe 11 does. It's a neat hunt because you are walking and still-hunting, but the weather I think is playing a big factor in what we are seeing. Food here is fantastic, as far as food goes, I don't think I've ever been in a place with better food than this, the chef Lilly is amazing and we're eating like kings, that's for sure, big, fat kings ... Four other hunters came in from New York, one of them loaned me rubber boots thank goodness so my feet are dry.
