Stealth SNIPERS Shine in Saskatchewan

Posted by: jsadmin

The Stealth Cams are working great. Most of the bigger bucks are right now nocturnal and the really old bucks we're just not seeing them at all. A few 3 and 4 year olds, one we had pictures of that was on one of my stands the other night at 6:30 p.m. and the last legal light was at 6:32 p.m. that night, so I thought we'd sit on that stand to see if he'd come out earlier. So I took Davey Lawless, the luckiest whitetail hunter I know. And at exactly 6:09 p.m. Davey checked his watch, we video'd that buck coming right in and at 6:15 p.m. he shot him, perfect shot, and we went over and he was magnificent 5x5 heavy, heavy, heavy, and just a great buck. Davey was thrilled, he continues on his good luck streak. Gorgeous day again today, so I might begin hunting tomorrow, east wind. I got a good stand for an east wind and I'll start hunting for myself. Just got a call today from Todd and this evening the hunter we had on stand, Bill, the fellow who drove Len out from British Columbia, missed one, so that's too bad, that's hunting, no one is perfect.

The Next Day ...

Yesterday was an excellent day, had a couple of misses and got a great big buck on camera, too. Matt is down in southern Saskatchewan videoing Freddie Lackie our operations manager for mule deer and apparently they saw the monster way over 200 inches, stickers everywhere, giant, and they sneaked up within 70 yards and got a shot quartering away and for whatever reason Freddie missed completely all on camera, magnificent footage. Matt and Freddie went after him again today, found five other bucks but not the real big one. Yesterday Bill had a chance at a real nice 4x4 and missed the shot as well. Then Todd Bissenden with his hunter John Street great kill shot on a beautiful 5x5 perfect light. John is helping out on our team, so he made a good shot and we have another kill shot on camera, so things are working real well. Dan is in Africa working over there and Bran and Corey on way home from Tajikistan where Corey got a great Marco Polo ram and an ibex. Season is in full swing. Watched Brock Lesnar fight, felt bad for him, but I'm sure he'll be back.

Cameraman Todd Bissenden has been after this Saskatchewan buck for three years. The Stealth Cam SNIPER IR shows that he's back!

The Next Day ...

At the Toronto airport waiting for a flight to London we're in the lounge not because we have business class tickets, which we never do we always fly baggage class, but because we fly so much we get passes into the lounge so we get free beer and chips. We're like the Clampett's here. I'm getting e-mails from the guys out in the prairires and we have some great bucks starting to show up on Stealth Cams, Todd Bissenden has a buck that he's been after for the past three years it's back, so he's really exciited and has his fingers crossed. He's been trying to get this buck for three years. I'm excited about going to London and then to Quebec to Anticosti Island, but when I see these kind of pictures I just want to be back out on whitetail stand in Saskatchewan.
