SCI Hunt Buyer Gets His Moose!
We got our moose yesterday (Monday)! It was in the same area as the moose that we spotted on Sunday when my hunter Dick McCloud didn't hunt. Cameraman Todd and I had gone out scouting and found some big bulls, but this one was a different one than the ones we saw on Sunday.
Monday it was foggy and raining on us and we were out there waiting for it to clear out. As it cleared, I spotted this bull only 200 yards away. He was with three cows. Called him and he came in to 60 yards grunting and displaying. Beautiful video footage. Dick made the shot and he's thrilled.
The bull has 15 points on each side and is close to 60 inches wide. We got him butchered and were crossing the river right at dark with the ARGO. Made it back to camp around midnight. Now we're back at our base camp looking for grizzly bears for the next three days.
Guide Brian "Wojo" got an 8-foot grizzly for one of his clients, and that hunter's partner got a 63-inch moose and a big caribou. Our cameraman Tanner Adams is in there with those guys and they say the footage of the grizzly is great.
