I'm standing in the middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere, as usual. If you look at a map of South America, just go to the very middle part, just below the Brazil border, where there are no roads and no nothing, that's where I am in Paraguay. Amazing

Eva and Brackett Tag Big BC Bears
Posted by Jim Shockey
Excellent day yesterday. Weather was absolutely horrible, though, windy, rainy, yucky everybody saw a few bears, but we got lucky. Eva got a beautiful big bear, 18 and 11 (sixteenths) in the skull, 60-yard wide open and perfect shot with T/C muzzleloader.

Great day again today. Weather was kind of iffy; a little cool and a little drizzly, but we got all the way out to where we were going to hunt. We saw four bears on the way out there, but not bears you'd go after. So the first bear we saw in the area we w

Sorry I haven't been blogging for the last few days. I was three days getting back from Russia and picked up some kind of a crazy Russian bug and then spent 36 hours on a couch at home just trying to survive. It passed, so I headed up to my camp a day lat

The Journey Home Begins ...

Woke up this morning, snowing ugly weather, low fog. We waited as long as we could then we headed up; plus we were out of gas ... they only had enough just to get out to that spot where the big bear was. We got out there and sat for six hours watching the

Ethiopian Safari Fizzles to an End

Tough, tough, tough day. We got up early early, went into our blind, waited until it got light, and then we realized that the leopard had not come back to that bait during the night, which is only the second time ever that's happened to Jason. So we race

Leopard Baits Remain Untouched
Posted by Jim Shockey
We got the warthog hung up today, so now we have seven baits out there; hard to say why the baits aren't hit. Jason is really, really surprised. This is the highest density of leopards anywhere in Africa apparently. So we're just waiting patiently. Sittin
